The orography of the Costa Blanca means that the Alicante area is chosen every year by dozens of tourists who love sports in natural areas. The possibility of joining sea and mountain in just a few kilometers makes this space the ideal terrain for dozens of sporting events of international importance.

One of the most awaited every year is the Costa Blanca Bike Race (Five Continents Race), an event that brings together hundreds of adventure and exercise enthusiasts every year. And that with each edition is increasing its fame to the point that it has become an unmissable event for many people from different parts of the country and the planet.

Every year we welcome some of these athletes to the bungalows at our campsite. They tell us about the wonderful experience of racing the Costa Blanca Bike Race and promise to return next season. The next edition, in 2027, takes place in February.

What is the Costa Blanca Bike Race and where is it held?

In a nutshell, the Costa Blanca Bike Race is the event of the year for mountain bike lovers. It is a competition of the UCI S1 category by stages in which every year the best bikers of the planet meet.

Through four stages, the participants will travel through some of the most interesting points of the geography of the area, getting to know impressive mountain landscapes where they will cross risky trails and areas of great beauty.

One of the most interesting points of the Costa Blanca Bike Race is that the race can be done both that the race can be done both individually and in pairs, which are the two categories established by the organization of the event.

When is the Costa Blanca Bike Race held in 2027?

The Costa Blanca Bike Race 2027 takes place from 11 to 14 February 2027, based in Calpe. In the Full format, each of the four days has one stage; the Half format is raced over two stages. The stages are designed so that mountain-bike enthusiasts can enjoy their favourite sport like never before.

The race takes place around the municipality of Calpe, located just 30 minutes from our facilities. It is a wonderful coastal area where you can enjoy an excellent climate even in the cold months, making it ideal for exercising in the mountains.

Two registration modalities

In addition to the possibility of living the experience individually or in pairs, the race has adapted its route for two levels of athletes.

Registration fees are published on the official website when registration opens, and they rise in stages: the earlier you sign up, the cheaper it is. For the 2026 edition, registration was open from 5 September 2025 to 23 January 2026.

On the one hand, there is the possibility of doing the FULL registration, which includes the four stages and the four days of competition. On the other hand, there is the option of joining only two of the four days, thus reducing the demand.

In both cases the race is designed for the following categories of athletes: SUB23, ELITE, MASTER 30, MASTER 40, MASTER 50 and MASTER 60.

What are its stages?

In the Costa Blanca Bike Race, there are stages for all tastes. It is certain that the organization has managed to take advantage of the territory to design a route that offers challenges to all participants, whatever their tastes.

Every year the race changes its routes and varies the distances, so that participants who return edition after edition always find a new challenge. The organisers have not yet detailed the 2027 stages: the ones we describe below correspond to previous editions and serve as a reference. According to the organisers, the route starts by the sea, with technical climbs and pine-forest trails, feed stations every 20 km and chip timing.

Stage 1: Calpe

The first stage surrounds the municipality of Calpe. Therefore, the start and finish will take place in the city’s Creativity Park. The start will take place at 10:00 a.m. and the finish line will be closed at 16:00 hours.

Stage 2: Antennas of Albir

The second stage is one of the most anticipated moments for all bikers who sign up for the full tour. We are talking about the climb to the Antenas del Albir, in the town of Altea.

This stage is the most challenging because of the steep climb that cyclists must make through rural roads and routes. However, it is also one of the most enjoyed due to the breathtaking views of the bay of Altea, which opens to the Mediterranean in a very special way from these points. The schedule for this second stage is the same as the first day.

Stage 3: Calpe

On the third day, the participants who will only do two of the four stages will join the competition. This new race is once again focused on the territory surrounding the city of Calpe and, according to the experience of previous stages, it is the most important race of the year. that bets more on mountain routes, trails and trialeras. Again, the race schedule is repeated.

Stage 4: Calpe

The final stage of the Costa Blanca Bike Race has the same timetable and will be held at the same time. is the most “festive” day of the experience. It is a route designed for the enjoyment of the participants, who will travel both on road and mountain territories to get the most out of their bike.

How to register for the Costa Blanca Bike Race

The way to join this competition is through the event's official website. On the home page, interested riders will find a button to register for both the "Full" version of the race (4 stages) and the "Half" category, with just two stages.

As is usual in this kind of sporting event, the sooner you register, the cheaper your place will be. Check the official website for the opening date and the fees for the 2027 edition.
