The province of Alicante is a preferred sun and beach tourist destination on the Levantine coast. Locations such as Benidorm, Denia, Torrevieja, Calpe, Santa Pola, or Jávea are visited each summer by hundreds of thousands of people seeking relaxation and enjoyment of their beaches.

But in addition to the beaches, people greatly enjoy pools, and that’s where water parks come in. The most well-known of all is Aqualandia, in Benidorm, which is the oldest water park in Alicante. Besides this one, there are other options. Would you like to know about them?

Oh, and let’s not forget, the province has managed to diversify its tourism offerings. It’s not just a succession of kilometers of coastline with fully-serviced beaches, but it also has inland tourism as another great boost. But today we’re focusing on water parks.

Aqualandia Benidorm

Aqualandia Benidorm was the first facility of its kind built in Spain and currently remains one of the largest in the world and the largest on this list of water parks in Alicante. It opened its doors in 1985. In Europe, it retained this privilege until the opening of Siam Park in Costa Adeje, Tenerife.

Aqualandia in Alicante is the water park that offers the highest slides on the entire continent. It’s located on the outskirts of Benidorm, just 20 minutes from our Camping Armanello facilities and in the vicinity of the Serra Gelada natural park.

The complex spans 150,000 square meters and includes numerous water attractions, green areas, and complementary services. The most notable bathing areas are pools, slides, and children’s play areas where millions of liters of water circulate.

One of the most visited spaces is VertiGo!, a capsule slide that has a 33-meter drop that is completed in just 3 seconds.

The soft tracks form another attraction highly desired by bathers, as it offers the opportunity to race and feel the speed while descending the track. On the Splash slides, you’ll feel all the frenzy of sliding into the water from dozens of meters high.

Beyond the attractions that allow you to release a lot of adrenaline, other spaces that ensure a lot of enjoyment are Geyser, Amazonas, Cyclon, the rapids, or the Adventureland park, the latter primarily intended for children and families. Along with all this, there are play areas with water guns, ball pools, children’s maze, and a wave pool.

Aqualandia Benidorm, in its interest to attract visitors, offers three routes from its website to make the most of the park.

  • The Family itinerary is designed to ensure enjoyment and entertainment for adults and children.
  • The Friends route includes relaxing and radical attractions, which guarantees a good time.
  • Finally, for the bravest, there’s the Extreme route, with a review of the most dangerously fun scenarios.
